Russian Investigators Come Under Targeted Fire from Ukraine
MOSCOW, July 25 (RIA Novosti) — A team of investigators from Russia’s Investigative Committee on Friday came under targeted mortar fire from the Ukrainian side of the border, the committee’s spokesman said.
The team arrived at the village of Primiussky in the Rostov region to investigate the previous shelling of the Russian territory from Ukraine.
“Apparently, only the poor training of Ukrainian soldiers and timely evacuation of investigators under cover of armored vehicles prevented the shooters from realizing their goal,” Markin said.
“A total of 47 mortar rounds, likely of the 82-mm caliber, were fired at the team. Another wave of 32 mortar rounds hit the same area later,” the official concluded.
